A Message from the Chair
Most of our patients at Children’s of Mississippi receive care at one of our outpatient specialty clinics at the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower or around the state. The care provided through the state’s only children’s hospital and the Children’s of Mississippi network of specialty clinics is truly world-class.
In this issue of Pediatrics Update, we’ll explore some of our clinics. Our Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders has moved temporarily to Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants while its location in the Batson Tower is under renovation. Pediatric gastroenterology patients can see Children’s of Mississippi experts at the Eli Manning Clinics for Children at the children’s hospital as well as at clinics around the state. Through Mississippi Thrive!, children at Batson Kids Clinic and throughout the state can access developmental and behavioral health screenings.
We congratulate Kingston Murriel, a patient of the Children’s Heart Center, on being named as the state’s 2023 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion. This year, he will be a wonderful ambassador for the children’s hospital and our patients.
As we near the end of another great academic year in the Department of Pediatrics, we also congratulate the honorees of the Department's annual Awards Day. Our faculty and house officers consistently provide the very best quality service, education, and research. They are truly rock stars!
We appreciate your partnership in helping children live healthier lives.
Sincerely,
Mary B. Taylor, M.D., M.S.C.I.
